CLEO® / Europe – EQEC 2015 announces 1st Call for Papers
2015 has been declared the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL 2015) by the United Nations. As Founding Partners of IYL 2015, The European Physical Society (EPS), The Optical Society (OSA) and IEEE Photonics Society are delighted to announce The European Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO®/Europe) and the XIIIth European Quantum Electronics Conference (EQEC) which will take place from 21 to 25 June 2015 at the International Congress Centre (ICM) in Munich, Germany.
These two combined conferences, associated with LASER World of PHOTONICS 2015, the world’s largest trade fair on Laser Technology, will be a major event of IYL 2015 and welcome prestigious speakers in the field of optics and related applications.
The Congress will be the largest, most comprehensive and exceptional gathering of optics and photonics researchers and engineers organized in Europe in 2015. Theodor W. Hänsch, 2005 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Serge Haroche, 2012 Nobel Laureate of Physics, and Federico Capasso, 2013 Laureate of the EPS-Quantum Electronics and Optics Prize, will deliver Plenary Talks. A full list of topics and committees can be viewed on the conference website at www.cleoeurope.org. CLEO®/Europe will showcase the latest developments in laser sources, materials, ultrafast science, fibre optics, nonlinear optics, terahertz sources, high-field physics, optical telecommunications, nanophotonics and biophotonics. EQEC will feature fundamentals of quantum optics, quantum information, atom optics, ultrafast optics, nonlinear phenomena and self-organization, plasmonics and metamaterials, as well as fundamental nanooptics.
The 2015 conferences will launch two new topical areas:
- Photonics in defense and security (CLEO®/Europe)
- Theoretical and computational photonics (EQEC).
The high quality of plenary, keynote, tutorial, invited speakers and short courses promises to make this conference the best! A particular highlight of the 2015 program will be a series of special symposia surveying recent advances in the emerging areas of:
- Light Management in Photovoltaics
- Photonics Lab-on-a-chip Biosensors
- Laser-driven acceleration
- Optics in Graphene and Other Two-dimensional Materials
- Integrated Quantum Optics
The Chairs now invite you to come to Munich during June 21 - 25, 2015 and participate in Europe’s most exciting photonics event. The historical and cultural atmosphere of Munich in June provides a perfect environment for scientific and professional networking.
Paper submission will start on October 17, 2014.
The deadline for submissions will be January 19, 2015, 17:00 GMT
We are looking forward to seeing you in Munich!
